Playing the flush line
  NHL_94, Feb 19 2007

Today I got it all in on the flop with a set vs preflop raiser with a c/r line, usually used for flush draws. He obliged me by reraising my flop bet and we got it all in on the flop. He had TPTK. This is the reason why you take pot control lines in these pots, but I am thankful they did not.

Reraised pots
  NHL_94, Feb 05 2007

Been running into a bit of bad luck lately, but that is bound to happen. On Full Tilt for a few hands this weekend, I found myself in 2 reraised pots. Once holding KK, the other with AA. Both in position.

I wound up losing my stack in both. One to a set of QQ vs AA and of course AA vs my KK. Before at NL 100, I would let this get to me and effect my play. This time, after the weekend was over I ended up being down only 65 on the weekend buy just getting back to playing my a game.

Seems quite obvious, but what I found I did best at this time was just to sit out after getting coolered like this for a bit. This is not ideal, but it is a step in the right direction. If you are having problems tilting after big pairs, try this out.

On the weekend -65

Sticking with it...
  NHL_94, Feb 02 2007

After 2 days I am up 210 at NL 100 after playing around 3 hours. In general I am noticing people 3 betting lighter at NL 100, but outside of that is playing very similar to NL 50, which is nice.

One thing that I notice still at NL 100 is that people are still not focused on making the right plays and good ABC poker. Many are too concerned with making moves. Sometimes it is slowplaying a set on a drawy board, other times it is check-raising the river with a monster. Too much TV poker for many of these players, or what we call FPS. Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciate it when I play connectors, flop 2 pair, and only lose 20 at NL 100 to a flopped set.

I did a session review with and they helped point out my lack of aggression again, something I slip into. Taking a few little stabs and 2 barreling against people I suspect are floaters did good for me last night.

Lastly, there is a good thread in one of the stickies on 2+2 on stages of evolution. I feel that I am getting to see the light at the end of the tunnel at the lost stage. If you have not read it, the lost stage is you are past the don't know what you don't know mindset, and you have realized now what you don't know.

If you're one of those light 3-bettors, watch yourself, it'll get ya...
